Learn the killer blind defence decision processes that have helped my high stakes
PLO clients stay ahead of the modern game

Even if you're not a 'math guy'
Even if you have not bought poker courses before
Even if you're still new to PLO and transitioning from Hold'em

Sooner or later smart poker players recognise that to really compete at the tables they have to stop being bullied in the blinds.

Here are some of the things that you might have noticed...

You might have noticed that the toughest regs in your games seem to 3-bet against the button a lot. But when you try it you can't seem to find the right hands to choose.

Or perhaps you never seem to get action post-flop when you build a pot with Aces pre-flop... except when the d*mn nit flops a set.

And come to think of it, it really does seem strange that some coaches teach 3-bet ranges from 'the blinds' but make no distinction between Small and Big Blind 3-bet ranges. Because that's not the strategy that you see played at your tables.

You can read these reviews to see how effective this course is:

"The ranges have given me much more confidence"

"[Dynamic Blind Defence] is a very comprehensive and well presented course that allows you to grasp quite effectively the reasoning behind range building. Phil gives a very solid foundation on not only 'how' but 'why' you have to build preflop ranges in certain ways.

The preflop ranges presented on this course have given me much more confidence not only on which ranges to choose from preflop, but also to build a much more robust postflop play as a natural result."

- Diego Nakama, Mid-stakes PLO cash player, Brazil

"Opponents have a much harder time stealing 3b pots postflop"

"A detailed course in how to determine which components from the blinds make a hand playable backed up by math and solid reasoning. The course also digs deep into how to construct a polar 3b range (and provides such ranges) designed to enable the player to defend a wide variety of board textures. I learned a clear cut definition of playability and how to measure it. I also learned how small changes in the components of a hand (such as the rank of a card, or rank of a suit) can make a hand go from a clear call to a clear fold or 3b.

One month into applying the material the biggest difference to my game has been that my opponents have had a much harder time stealing 3b pots from me post flop on boards where a more linear range rarely has a hand stronger than one pair. I also get more action pre flop and post flop on boards where in the past, my 3b range was way too strong such as Axx or flops with 2 broadway cards. I've loosened up a bit in the SB when it comes to calling, which I was always hesitant to do and found that the hands I'm calling with are way easier to play than I thought OOP, and I've realized that my past hand grouping classification was way too rough and held me back from playing more hands OOP. Have you ever found PLO training material that had this big an impact on YOUR game?

You have figured out that you need to adapt your 3-bet ranges to different opponents, but working out how to build those ranges is a problem...

...and it's all too easy to get caught up in the latest trends.

Trends change, principles don't

If you're playing a lot of poker in 2020 you will be familiar with a boring trend in mainstream PLO coaching.

A lot of PLO players are trying to memorize the same machine-generated solutions... But memorization without understanding is what you hated most about high school .

In a way, this all makes perfect sense: If your brain is saturated with media culture then you are conditioned to follow trends. Yet if you examine the game more deeply than the average player, you want to see the signal, not the noise.

Would you trust a 'poker lab' that wasn't run by a scientist?

I want to make one thing very clear: If you are looking for solver solutions, based on naive interpretations of over-simplified game trees, then this course is not for you.

In the 21st century data is cheap and easy to generate, but
interpeting that data, classifying it according to conceptual models, and making those models usable for real people... that's what's hard.

And that's exactly what I do.

Hi, I'm Phil Rocquemore
Founder and Research Director of the Cardquant poker strategy research institute.

Phil Rocquemore

Since 2012 I have trained high stakes professional poker players how to use context maps, decision plans, and game theory to understand and beat competitive poker games.

I hold a degree in Physics from the University of Oxford and I won a prestigious Thouron Scholarship for my Master's degree at the University of Pennsylvania.

I teach my students how to recognise common opponent weaknesses and specify exactly how to adjust their pre-flop ranges to exploit them in the thick of battle.

I have developed this video training course, using my unique dynamic approach, to give you the strongest possible pre-flop strategies to protect your blinds.

Introducing...

Stop static strategies in their tracks with the definitive guide to building 3-bet ranges from the blinds

What's inside the course:

  • How the structure of the game gives rise to starkly different Game Trees depending on whether we are in the Small Blind or the Big Blind.
  • The differences in range construction between the Big and Small Blinds which arise as a consequence of the difference in structure.
  • Why the "Pot-Odds" model for a Small Blind call is a dead-end and how top players ensure their success by approaching calling differently
  • How the value of QQ and JJ varies as the opening raise moves around the table. Learn to spot the key changes in side-card value so that you can
make the right decisions with these tricky hands.
  • The single most important factor in our metric for selecting playable hands from the Small Blind facing a raise
  • How to stop struggling when your opponent uses a min-raise. Use my equity matrices to add playable hands to your range... without overcompensating
  • The numbers that determine both Hand Polarity and Range Polarity and how to use these concepts to evaluate the 3-bet potential of a PLO hand.
  • Proven heuristics for generating Value and Complementary 3-bet ranges from the Blinds against an open from EP, CO or the Button.
  • How to identify the key hand buckets for building a 3-bet range against a Button open... and so save memory without sacrificing value.
  • How to recognize the crucial categories of Merged Value Hands and Promotional Hands to enhance your Small Blind 3-bet ranges.
  • A 3-step Decision Flow which tells you how to decide what to do in the Small Blind facing a raise.

  • And much more...

Hear what other students have said about my proven material on PLO strategy

"Phil will show you a different way to see PLO"

"It's the best pre-flop content on the market. Phil will show you a different way to see PLO. He will change your intuition and you will realize that almost all the field make some serious pre-flop mistakes. I think the [Pre-flop Principles] course is the best in the world."

- Yuri 'theNERDguy' Dzivielevski, World Class MTTer who transitioned to PLO, Brazil

"My win-rate jumped up to almost 10 EV BB/100"

"When I first came across Cardquant, I was barely breaking even, having spent more than a year transitioning from NLHE to PLO, without properly understanding where I was mistaking. I had been working with another coach, but I could not manage to improve the way I wanted.

Then I started to work with Phil, first buying pre-flop principles and then working with him as a private coach, which I have been doing for a year now. My winrate jumped up to almost 10 EV BB/100, and my understanding of the game was brought to the next level. He wisely mixes GTO solutions with Exploitative plays and he has always been able to give a solid, math-based answer to the many “why?” I’ve had during this period. It is not cheap, but it is worth every single pound."

- Andrea Salvatore, Mid-stakes cash player who transitioned to PLO, Italy

"I became a solid winner"

"I have worked with about 3-4 different coaches before Phil and I can tell that I havent had such analytical and precise coach before him, who would be willing to put that much effort into the coaching sessions and explain theory so well and so fluent.I can highly recommend Phil as a coach, because he teaches some things that I had never heard before.

About my career and improvement: When I started playing plo in 2010 on plo10, I was pretty passive irrc, didnt even know what 3bet was and didnt use any tracking software at all. I turned my biggest weakness (passiveness) into the opposite and maintining a healthy red line I think. Before Phil coached me, I had massive swings, even 70-80 BI-s/month and my game was not stable because of leaks in my game and my mental state(I was tilting a lot), but since I became a solid winner and much stronger mentally now I can retain a solid EV line.So Phil brings stability in your game if you work hard off the tables."
